Meet Wen Li
Building Inspector South Hurstville, NSW

Wen Li is a Licensed NSW Builder and senior construction professional based in South Hurstville, New South Wales, with over 22 years of experience across the residential construction industry in Australia and New Zealand.

Throughout his career, Wen has worked as a senior site foreman, construction supervisor, site supervisor, lead carpenter, and owner builder. His extensive hands-on experience covers luxury custom homes, duplexes, secondary dwellings, multi-unit developments, complex renovations, structural additions, recladding, remediation works, and construction on challenging sites.

Wen takes a practical “working foreman” approach, combining hands-on construction knowledge with a strong engineering mindset. He is highly experienced in interpreting architectural and engineering drawings, coordinating structural framing and steelwork, and identifying technical discrepancies before they affect project quality or progress. His experience also includes managing complex foundations, retaining wall systems, sloping sites, build-over-sewer requirements, waterproofing, and the integration of new structural works with existing buildings.

This broad construction background gives Wen a detailed understanding of how buildings are designed, constructed, and affected over time. He has a strong eye for identifying defects and potential concerns relating to structural movement, moisture ingress, waterproofing, weathertightness, workmanship, and construction sequencing. Rather than focusing only on visible symptoms, Wen applies his practical knowledge to consider the likely causes and potential implications of an issue.

At iSPECT Building Inspections, Wen brings a thorough, methodical, and detail-focused approach to every inspection. His technical knowledge is supported by strong digital reporting skills, including photographic documentation, accurate site records, and clear reporting. This ensures clients receive practical and easy-to-understand information about the condition of a property.

Wen’s qualifications and licences include:

• NSW Builder’s Licence
• NZ National Certificate IV in Construction
• Bachelor of Engineering in Chemistry Equipment and Machinery
• Bachelor of Science in Computer Science

Wen brings extensive construction knowledge, engineering insight, and hands-on building experience to iSPECT Building Inspections across New South Wales.
